The Impact Fund: In Partnership with the University of South Florida, School of Public Health

The Impact Fund is an innovative partnership with USF, the Office of the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis and several Florida State legislatures to gather data around the effectiveness of service dogs as an Alternative Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress and veterans. Participating veterans of the Rescue 22 Foundation provide information to the study that includes surveys, heart rate measurements and sleep trends in order to quantify the positive impact of service dogs in lieu of prescription medications or to lessen the number of prescription medications. The over-arching goal of this pilot program, is for state and other means of public funding to become available for service dogs for veterans with PTS or other mental health diagnoses.
